I have found science to back the observations I make in my daily life; I have found process to support action. I have always been intuitive about people and their interaction with their surroundings, and as a professional, it's refreshing to put a practice behind my childhood curiosities. My know-it-all explanations of behavior have  grown into a focused, empathetic path for study of people and their environments.

Craft has been a common thread in my life, from my days of taking apart electronics to see how they worked, to sitting patiently next to my mother as she sewed, waiting for a finished garment to come off the machine so I could snip the threads and iron the final product. I learned through apprenticeship, immersion, true doing. After college, I fed my passion and started a craft school, serving up modern craft courses, community events, products, and a cultural identity. I contributed to Bernina, Babble, Coats & Clark, Martha Stewart, and Handmade Charlotte as a freelance writer and tutorial crafter.

Freelance graphic and web design spun into an interest in the tech industry, with a deep interest to continue my presence in grassroots education. I launched the first campus for The Iron Yard outside of their flagship school in Greenville, SC, part of a journey of expansion to 20+ campuses. Managing a school as a small business unit turned into providing standards and leadership of new campuses and operations training. At the close of my tenure, I was leading all training, communication, and onboarding for the organization, to a team of 150+ operations and technology professionals.

At SOLTECH, I led internal Talent, Culture, and Engagement in an effort to elevate the organization into a top workplace and growth environment for our team. Strategy around designing leadership, communication, and career progression for the team from a technical and cultural perspective, as well as establishing an employer brand and cultural identity were the focus of my work at SOLTECH.
